I am not sure if this cemetery has a name, it's
very small and been deserted for years. I call it the Stewart cemetery because
the majority of headstones have the name Stewart on it. It is located in
Bradford twp., near Bradford cemetery, just past a new home development called "Bradfort
Heights". Clearfield county.
My interest in the cemetery is due to the fact that my g-grandmother Buck
(maiden name Doney), would walk to the cemetery and maintain the graves, pull
weeds, clear brush and etc. I feel there must be a connection there for her to
have done this. Anyway, the cemetery is in very bad shape. overgrown with
weeds, sunken graves and headstones falling over and some almost impossible to
read. I felt that if I didn't go there now and transcribe it, the names will
soon be lost. I did this on August 30, 2002. Gloria Gloss

Beside the large monument to the right were 3 small stones, could not read
names.
This is a complete listing as far as the count of headstones, some smaller
stones were so badly sunk that it was totally impossible to read the name if
time hadn't erased it. Also, this cemetery is in an area that has seen some
development lately and I wonder if it is in danger of being totally destroyed.
The above listing is all I could record. |
