W.J.BUMBARGER IS KILLED IN ITALY FIGHTING
Mr.& Mrs. Howard Bumbarger, of 810 Linden street, today recivied official notification from the War Department advising them that their son, Private William J.Bumbarger, was killed in action in Italy on January 31, no futher details were given in the telegram.
Pvt. Bumbarger, who was 19 years of age, attended the Clearfield Senior High School and was a member of the senior class when he was called into the armed forces on March 25, 1943.
He was trained at Fort McCellan Ala. and at Camp Rucker, Ala. prior to begin sent overseas during August of last year. Although he had been stationed in North Africa, the Italian Campaign was the first action in which he had taken part.
